Modi cabinet reorganization: Before the large-scale cabinet expansion, 12 coalition ministers resigned from the Narendra Modi government on Wednesday. The President’s Secretariat said in a statement: “under the Prime Minister’s proposal, the Indian President has accepted the resignation of the following members of the Council of Ministers, effective immediately.

The government stated that “20%” of ministers, which accounted for one-fifth of the Council of Ministers, had been removed, and that thing was directly related to performance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the 43 colleagues who were sworn in today in the new coalition cabinet. 36 new ministers joined the government and 7 were promoted. “I congratulate all colleagues who were sworn in today and wish them all the best during their term as ministers. We will continue to work hard to realize the wishes of the people and build a prosperous India. #Govt4Growth,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted after the ceremony to take the oath held in Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was expanded and reorganized on Wednesday. These include 36 new faces, and 7 current ministers of state have been promoted and included in the cabinet. The eight new faces also received the status of cabinet ministers. Congress tweeted that “the change of ministers will not change the situation in India. You must change the government”.
